Photo exhibition in the Marais – “Unsung Heroes”

From the 9th of October in Paris, Galerie Joseph is hosting the photo exhibition in the Marais “Unsung Heroes”. Until November 4th, discover the photographic project of Médecins du Monde and Denis Rouvre, in the atypical space of Galerie Joseph, at 7 rue Froissart. This exhibition breaks the silence around violence against women, opposing the faces and words of those who suffer them.

The work of Denis Rouvre

Thanks to this project, Denis Rouvre shares his background and experience. Crossing nine countries of the world, he photographed and interviewed more than one hundred women. One hundred women with different languages, religions and cultures who have entrusted their suffering. They testify the moral and physical, institutional, societal and domestic violence they endure.

This photo exhibition in the Marais gives you the opportunity to hear and see the injustice inflicted on these women around the world. Through this exhibition in the Marais, you will have the opportunity to learn the story of the women who resisted and how each decided to share its story.

A collaboration with Médecins du Monde

Médecins du Monde, which aim is to treat the most fragile populations, defending their access to the most basic care and rights, joined Denis Rouvre to guarantee the success of the exhibition. Guaranteeing the right of women to dispose of their bodies, to decide independently of their sexuality anywhere in the world are the subjects at the center of this photo exhibition in the Marais. Through this, the world joins forces to pay tribute to these women victims of violence, who show resilience, sacrifice and courage.
