The world as legacy

From Russian exiles in Paris, Ariane Konstantinovskaia has inherited a name – but the world’s most famous avenue has seen her birth. And the streets of Paris made her a student of the renowned École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Déco. After multiple adventures, she has become this global citizen who travels around the world, from Dubaï to Seoul, Phuket or Miami, to unveil her women’s portraits.

Beyond technique

If painting is her first love, Ariane Konstantinovskaia does not restricts her work to brushes. She perks it up, marrying acrylic and collages, handling irony and in-depth vision. Radiant, or carrying the eternal sorrow of human condition, the figures the artist brings in light are eerily touching.

In a peculiar way, her pictures are kind of familiar. You can make eyecontact with Mona Lisa or the black eyes of a Chinese actress. You might encounter the bareness of an African mother, or Kate Moss’, but it is always a piece of each one of us you’ll meet. The artist reminds us a lost childhood partner, evokes this friend, for ever laughing at the dark days, or this free, and out-of-hand spouse.

Carlton Hotel, in Cannes, French Riviera, has a permanent exhibition of painter’s work. In Paris, Galerie Joseph will showcase Portraits de Femme in the ucommon art gallery located at 123, rue de Turenne. In the Marais, the heart of the City of Lights, Ariane Konstantinovskaia’s pieces will be displayed from May 16th to 19th, 2019. The vernissage will take place on Wednesday, May 15th from 6pm, with the artist.
