The artist photographer Vanessa Bosio observes the world and reveals the beauty of things we no longer look at. This photographer of detail had already caught our attention with her images taken backstage at the Leonard Paris & Christine Phung fashion show, offering authentic moments taken from life, far from the usual fashion clichés.
Vanessa Bosio is back with a new, intimate and personal project entitled Archinaturelle, a true photographic account of a declaration of love to Lanzarote.
This book tells of her love at first sight for this Canary Island and the aesthetic work of the Spanish painter, architect and sculptor César Manrique.
In a sincere and poetic journey, the artist shows us this volcanic island through photographs that are both raw, graphic and dreamlike, in which nature becomes a work of art and architecture becomes organic. As a passionate lover, Vanessa looks for life in the midst of nothingness, as she explains in a small hand-stitched booklet inside the book: “No soul on the horizon. No animals, no plants. I admire the few who live here, because to survive here, you have to want it. Existence does not seem gentle, the sun is beating down.
She apprehends spaces by instinct, soaking up the genius of the place to build collections of images that she classifies and reclassifies ad infinitum.
This self-published book of architecture and nature – hence its title – gives us her vision of an island with controversial opinions and offers us a glimpse of the beauty of the invisible.
