London Fashion Week 2017

London Fashion Week 2017

The first week of the year was quite eventful for the fashion industry in London. Indeed, clothing designers from all over the world took over the art galleries and other unconventional venues of the British capital during the world famous London Fashion Week to stage their Fall/Winter 2017 Menswear collections. Fashion Week concluded this past Monday in London and will next jet off to Milan and New York, with a stopover in the showrooms of Paris’ Marais neighborhood in March 2017. During a British week teeming with discoveries, Xhander Zhou showed his collection, largely inspired by work wear and blue collar worker uniforms. Drawing inspiration from 1990s manga and superheroes, and more specifically, Power Rangers costumes, Bobby Abley created an unexpected and colorful collection. Barbour International remained true to its minimalist aesthetic and to its modern, simple but efficient, Street Wear clothing style. Phoebe combined modern and historical influences and derived inspiration mainly from clothing worn by Medieval serfs. Nigel Cabourn and Maharichi opted for bringing bomber jackets and military uniforms from around the world back into fashion. Katie Tôt gave top billing to fabrics with childlike prints and fluffy textures while Ximonlee played with black and white contrasting, giant pearl embroidery, and tan colors. In other words, as is the case every year, designers displayed tremendous imagination and inventiveness to push the boundaries of fashion.
